HOD's Welcome Note

You are welcome to the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering (EIE) at Covenant University. Here, you will find detailed information about our faculty members and their research works, our graduate and undergraduate educational program, and other range of activities underway. EIE is a vibrant department that is poised to making important contributions to key issue facing society in diverse areas. This include energy power system reliability, computing, networked communications, information security, and Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled infrastructure. EIE programs are the most subscribed when compared to all other private universities in Nigeria. This feat is traceable to the currency and relevance of our programs and the impact of our research. In addition, some of our faculty members are engaged in proffering solutions to issues of national importance as funded by different federal agencies in Nigeria and other international bodies abroad.

Three major programs are offered in the department namely:

  • Computer Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering; and
  • Information Engineering

Our goal in the Department of EIE is to be at the forefront of research and teaching by exposing our students to the core fundamental engineering principles, emerging technologies, and their applications. The department is open to collaboration towards multi- and inter-disciplinary research and teaching. The department also enjoys excellent relationships with neighbouring companies and industries, where students can be engaged in joint projects.
